Sod Maintenance
It is important to adhere to these guidelines to manage proper sod maintenance.
Watering
-
1st week - every other day
-
2nd week- every third day
-
3rd week - as needed
During summer months and periods of drought, watering may be required daily.
Mowing
Improper mowing can cause severe damage to your lawn. Bermuda and Zoysia grasses need to be scalped (cut at your mowers lowest setting) in March. This is prior to the spring green up. DO NOT scalp the grass after spring green up begins.
Mow the grass when it has reached a height of 1/2" to 1" above recommended mowing heights. Cutting more than 50% of the height of the blade of grass can result in possible damage to the grass. If it is necessary to cut more than 50%, make sure to water the grass thorough after mowing.
